Nusantara Life appoint Dira Mochtar president director
JAKARTA: Dira Mochtar appointed as PT Asuransi Jiwa Nusantara (Nusantara Life) new president director, replacing the previous placeman Hero Samudra.
Nusantara Life Corporate Secretary Edwin A. Lubis said Dira Mochtar is a former PT Bank Internasional Indonesia Tbk (BII) director.
"The appointment is decided on EGM [extraordinary general meeting of shareholder] last week," said Edwin to Bisnis tonight.
He said the other new occupant of board of director officials that also been appointed on the EGM are Hendra Dermawan as marketing director and Polly Poerdanadiredja as company's operational director. On the other hand, Mohammad Ansar still occupy his previous position as finance director.
He also mentioned the company officially became subsidiary of PT Rajawali Investment. But Edwin said there is no involvement by SOE plantation company PT Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia (RNI), through name similarity with Rajawali Investment or the flow of restructuring Optima Group debt to RNI several years ago.
Optima Group is Nusantara Life former owner. The insurance company ownership changing looks like being a debt restructuring tools for Optima Group to RNI.
The EGM, he added, also re-elect Bambang W. Soeharto as president commissioner, Mugi Jaya as commissioner, and Ackmal Husin as independent commissioner.
But Edwin have not been able to ensure the transaction value of Nusantara Life take over from former parent company, Optima Group.
Hero Samudra, the former president director, have mentioned that the transaction value is three time from initial value.
Dira said the company have targeted insurance bruto premiums IDR400 billion and their risk basedcapital (RBC) with percentage of 150% this year.
“We will worked professionally in order to achieve efficiency and compliance with guiding principles to enhance the company image as well as introduce more and more the company's image throughout Indonesia,” Dira add.
